Born in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Varun began his professional journey with a technical education, completing his B.Tech in Electronics Instrumentation & Control from A.I.E.T., Lucknow. He later entered the corporate world as a Software Engineer at Tech Mahindra, building a career far removed from the lights and cameras of the entertainment industry.

But behind the stability of a corporate career was a passion for performance.

Making the transition from software engineering to acting required more than ambition. It required the willingness to start again, learn an entirely new profession and step into an intensely competitive industry.

Varun's technical background gave him discipline, focus and a structured approach—qualities that eventually became valuable in his artistic career as well. His transition represents the kind of professional reinvention that comes from following one's creative calling rather than remaining confined to a conventional career path.

His experience in front of the camera soon expanded beyond modelling, opening doors into television, films, OTT projects and music videos.

Varun Joshi has explored several formats of entertainment throughout his career.

His film and web-series work includes Pyaara Kulhad, where he portrayed a negative lead, along with projects such as Raebareli, Pratishod, The Tattoo Murders, Shashank and Dubeyji and the Boys.

What makes his portfolio interesting is the range of characters he has taken on. From intense negative roles to comedy-oriented performances, Varun has continued to explore different shades of acting rather than restricting himself to one particular image.

His television credits further expanded his reach, with appearances in popular shows including Vighnaharta Ganesha, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Kundali Bhagya, Kumkum Bhagya, Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran, Bepanaah and Roop – Mard Ka Naya Swaroop.
