During the visit, Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude to the Government and the people of Seychelles for the honour. He dedicated the award to all nations working collectively to combat climate change and protect the environment for future generations. He emphasized that global cooperation is essential to address environmental challenges and ensure sustainable development.

The visit also focused on strengthening bilateral relations between India and Seychelles. Both countries held high-level discussions on expanding cooperation in defence, maritime security, the Blue Economy, digital connectivity, healthcare, education, renewable energy, and capacity building. Several agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed to deepen collaboration across multiple sectors.

Maritime security remained one of the key highlights of the visit. India reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Seychelles in safeguarding the Indian Ocean region through enhanced defence cooperation, training, and the supply of maritime assets. A Made-in-India Fast Patrol Vessel was also handed over to Seychelles, reinforcing India's role as a trusted security partner in the region.

Prime Minister Modi highlighted India's vision of a secure, stable, and prosperous Indian Ocean, stating that both countries share a common responsibility to ensure peace, sustainability, and economic growth across the maritime region. He noted that the Indian Ocean serves as a bridge connecting nations rather than dividing them.

Climate resilience and sustainable development were also major themes of the discussions. Both leaders agreed to enhance cooperation on renewable energy, disaster management, marine conservation, and initiatives promoting the Blue Economy. India reiterated its support for global environmental initiatives and sustainable development projects benefiting island nations.

The visit holds special significance as it coincides with the celebration of 50 years of diplomatic relations between India and Seychelles. Over the decades, the two countries have built a strong partnership based on mutual trust, strategic cooperation, and people-to-people ties.

With new agreements, enhanced defence collaboration, and a shared commitment to regional stability, Prime Minister Modi's visit is expected to further strengthen India-Seychelles relations while reinforcing India's strategic presence in the Indian Ocean region.
