Melbourne, Australia: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held high-level bilateral talks with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese during his official visit to Melbourne as part of his three-nation diplomatic tour. During the summit, both countries announced several important agreements aimed at deepening their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. One of the major outcomes was an agreement to facilitate the long-term supply of Australian uranium for India's civilian nuclear energy programme, marking a significant milestone in bilateral energy cooperation.

The two leaders also agreed to expand collaboration in renewable energy, green hydrogen, critical minerals, maritime security, low-carbon technologies and infrastructure development. Prime Minister Modi highlighted India's clean energy ambitions and invited Australian companies to increase investments in India's fast-growing economy.

Apart from official discussions, the two Prime Ministers participated in the India–Australia CEO Forum, where business leaders explored new opportunities in manufacturing, artificial intelligence, digital technology, innovation, supply chains and bilateral trade. Both sides expressed confidence that stronger business partnerships would accelerate economic growth.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese described India as one of Australia's most trusted strategic partners and reaffirmed his government's commitment to strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors. He also appreciated the contribution of the Indian community in Australia in enhancing people-to-people ties.

Prime Minister Modi stated that India and Australia are "natural and trusted partners" capable of working together to address global challenges. He emphasized that stronger cooperation in trade, technology, defence, energy and innovation would contribute to regional stability and sustainable economic growth across the Indo-Pacific.

The visit resulted in 18 major outcomes and initiatives, covering defence cooperation, maritime security, education, technology, energy, investment and critical minerals. The agreements are expected to further strengthen the long-standing relationship between New Delhi and Canberra while creating new opportunities for businesses and strategic cooperation in the years ahead.
