Global Taj International Film Festival 2026: Films From 20 Countries Arrive in Agra, 8th Edition Set for November

Agra: The city of the Taj is set to welcome stories from around the world as the 8th Global Taj International Film Festival 2026 prepares to bring together international cinema, filmmakers, artists and film enthusiasts in Agra this November.

Organised by Glamour Live Films, the three-day festival has already received film entries from India and 20 countries, marking a diverse international presence for the upcoming edition. The festival is centred around the theme of cinema, culture and knowledge, with an aim to create a platform where films can become a medium for cultural exchange and dialogue.

Films From Across the Globe to Be Screened

According to the festival organisers, entries have been received from countries including the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Singapore, Zimbabwe, Italy, Russia, France, Poland, Australia, Argentina and the United States, along with films from India.

Indian filmmakers have also submitted films across different languages and categories, adding to the diversity of the festival's programming.

With filmmakers from different parts of the world participating, the festival aims to bring a variety of stories, perspectives and cinematic traditions to audiences in Agra.

Film Submissions Open Until October 15

The final deadline for film submissions for the Global Taj International Film Festival 2026 has been set for October 15, 2026.

Filmmakers from India and abroad can submit their films through the festival's official submission platform.

The organisers are continuing to invite filmmakers who wish to showcase their work before an international audience in the historic city of Agra.

Three-Day Festival Planned in November

Festival Founder and Director Suraj Tiwari said that, similar to previous editions, the 2026 festival will be organised over three days.

The first day will begin with the opening ceremony, followed by the screening of the opening film.

On the second day, screenings across different categories will continue from the morning. A special panel discussion will also be organised during the day's programme, providing an opportunity to discuss cinema and related subjects.

The third day will feature further film screenings along with a special talk show. The festival will conclude with an Awards Night, where participating filmmakers will be recognised. A Bollywood-themed evening is also expected to be one of the attractions of the closing programme.

Connecting Agra With International Cinema

Speaking about the objective of the festival, Suraj Tiwari said the aim is to connect Agra with international cinema and provide a common platform for audiences, filmmakers, artists and professionals associated with the film industry.

Through the festival, the organisers are seeking to bring stories and perspectives from different cultures to Agra audiences through the medium of cinema.

The festival also seeks to encourage interaction between filmmakers and audiences while creating opportunities to experience films representing different languages, cultures and creative approaches.

Poster Launch Event Held in Agra

A poster launch programme for the upcoming festival was also organised in Agra.

The event was attended by producer Ranjit Sama, Aditi Katyayani from Srijan Sanstha, Anita Gautam, a teacher, Vani Srivastava, a social worker, and festival founder-director Suraj Tiwari.

The poster launch marked another step towards the November edition of the festival and its international cinematic programme.
