Vijay Shankar Meena Leads President Race

After 13 rounds, NSUI candidate Vijay Shankar Meena has received 15,203 votes, while ABVP candidate Yash Dabas has secured 14,919 votes.

The difference between the two candidates stands at 284 votes, with counting still continuing.

The presidential contest has changed several times during the counting process. Earlier rounds saw Yash Dabas holding the lead before Vijay Shankar Meena moved ahead.

Deepanshu Shokeen Maintains Lead in Vice-President Contest - DUSU Election Results 2026

The Vice-President race has a considerably wider gap.

Independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen has secured 19,973 votes after 13 rounds. ABVP's Ishu Maurya has received 10,127 votes, while NSUI's Veer Chatrath is also in the contest.

Shokeen entered the election as an Independent candidate after not receiving the NSUI ticket and has remained ahead during the counting rounds reported so far.

Secretary Race

For the Secretary post, ABVP's Riya Chhawdi is leading with 12,751 votes after 13 rounds.

NSUI candidate Namrata Chaudhary has received 9,895 votes at this stage of counting.

Joint Secretary Contest Remains Close

The Joint Secretary contest is also being closely watched.

After 13 rounds:

• NSUI's Gopal Choudhary: 10,403 votes

• SCS candidate Vishesh Yadav: 9,898 votes

• ABVP's Lakshya Raj Singh: 9,755 votes

DUSU Election Turnout

Voting for the DUSU elections took place on September 18 across 52 polling centres.

The reported voter turnout was 40.46%, higher than the turnout recorded in the previous two years. More than 1.51 lakh students were eligible to vote.

The counting process is being conducted amid heightened security arrangements around Delhi University.

More than 2,000 police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed, with additional arrangements around the counting centres and restrictions on some roads in the area.
